Joelinton offered to Saudi Pro League clubs - Bold claims from Saudi journalist

This is being labelled as a 'transitional' summer for Newcastle United, with a busy transfer period expected before the new season.

The Magpies have already brought in three first-team players along with several new academy recruits, while big stars like Kieran Trippier, Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali have moved on to new ventures.

There's constant speculation around Bruno Guimarães, which is starting to become a real concern, while players like Nick Pope, Joe Willock and Jacob Murphy are thought to be in the shop window.

Now, a journalist for Hattrick in Saudi Arabia, Khalid Al-Zahrani, has claimed via X, that Joelinton is being offered around by the club.

According to Al-Zahrani, Joelinton has been offered by Newcastle United to several Saudi Pro League clubs with differing results.

"Exclusive: Brazilian Joelinton, Newcastle's pivot, is one of the names presented to the recruitment committee.

"The committee in turn presented him to the clubs.. Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr showed no interest, Al-Ahli, Al-Ittihad, and Al-Qadsiah are waiting."

Fingers crossed there's no truth here

We aren't sure how to take this one right now. Joelinton will turn 30 before the season gets underway, and we are well aware that Ross Wilson is trying to reduce the average age of the squad.

In that sense, it is very believable that Newcastle could be looking to shift Joelinton. Also, offering him to the Saudi Pro League makes sense as they're more likely to get a good transfer fee if he's sold to Saudi Arabia.

Having said that, though, Joelinton is a hugely popular figure on Tyneside and is a key player for Eddie Howe. When you add the uncertainty around Bruno Guimarães, can they really afford to be losing Joelinton too?
