Absolutely massive as Mags end away drought in style! - Everton 1-4 Newcastle
Before today, Newcastle United hadn't won a Premier League game away from home since our 3-0 win at Leicester City way back in April.
After four-straight defeats on the road at Brighton, West Ham, Brentford and Marseille, we desperately needed a victory on the road, and that's exactly what we got in a sensational display at Everton.
Howe mixed up the side, had his best full-backs fit again and the lads did not let him down on his 48th birthday, delivering one of our best performances of the season and a 4-1 win on Merseyside to make it back to back wins in the league.
The result sends us above Man Utd and Liverpool, up to 11th and into next week's double header at St James' Park with a spring in our step, with Spurs and Burnley both coming to Tyneside before away trips to Bayer Leverkusen and Sunderland.
Signing of the summer Malick Thiaw scored twice with two bullet headers on another mountainous display, Lewis Miley got on the scoresheet to double our lead and Nick Woltemade delivered an inch perfect lob in what was an outstanding display from the 6ft 6" striker.
The big news ahead of kick-off was Pope's absence with a 'knock', allowing Ramsdale to come in for his first Premier League start in one of SIX changes from our midweek defeat in Marseille.
Elsewhere, we saw Burn, Hall, Miley, Joelinton, Elanga and Woltemade come into the side, replacing Schar, Tonali, Willock, Gordon and Murphy.

We couldn't have made a better start, creating one big chance then scoring from a set piece all within the opening minute! Woltemade and Elanga combined well in the opening 20 seconds, forcing a corner from Pickford's fingertip save that Thiaw then headed home from Miley's inviting delivery. 55 seconds in, 1-0 up and the fastest Premier League goal of the season so far!

Barnes was then next to go close after latching onto Hall's clever through ball, but had his shot well blocked just as he looked to fire past Pickford.
A superb start, although we HAD to build on this after failing to capitalise on early 1-0 leads away to Marseille, Brentford and West Ham in each of our last three away games that all ended in defeat.
On that note, Everton were starting to push us back and totally dominate the ball, with us having Burn and Woltemade to thank for two vital interventions in the box after Keane and Garner both fired off target.
Elanga looked lively on the break, albeit without a great deal of end product, but it was good to see him using that lethal pace to good effect. We just had to settle it down, regain control of the ball and look to score again, not sit back and hope to see it out too soon. And the former is exactly what we did from our next attack.
After Burn did superbly to stop Tino's wayward shot from flying out, the ball fell to Miley on the edge of the box. His well-struck shot was straight at Pickford, but the Mackem stopper got it all wrong and parried it into straight into the net! 2-0, the dream start and a massive moment for Miley, who had set up one and scored another on just his second league start of 2025/26.

The goal gave us confidence and we nearly made it three, as Hall burst forward again and saw his deflected effort clip the crossbar before another teasing Miley cross just missed the head of Woltemade and Joelinton.
We looked far more comfortable building from the back with Tino and Hall back in the side, producing some lovely patters off play in wide areas to play our way out of trouble. We've said for some time just how much we've missed both, who give us energy at both ends of the pitch, add zip to our play, our ability to contain tricky wingers and an outlet for our wingers to combine with.
If 2-0 and zero saves from Ramsdale wasn't enough, we then put the cherry on top of a superb first half by making it three. Elanga nipped in ahead of Iroegbunam and crossed for Woltemade, who let out his inner Dimitar Berbatov by calmly gathering the ball and lobbing Pickford!

After a slow opening five minutes, the first big moment of the second half saw subbed on Carlos Alcaraz crash the crossbar after Ramsdale's clearance off the line. If that was the warning sign, we soon made sure of the win in emphatic fashion.
After more lovely play from Hall, a dangerous Barnes cross and some stunning quick feet in the box from Woltemade that saw his shot cleared off the line, Hall's whipped cross was powered home via another Thiaw header. Two goals for the German, 4-0 Newcastle and an absolute joy to see us not just winning away, but doing it in some style!
Barry thought he'd pulled one back for Everton moments later, only for VAR to intervene and deny him a first goal for the Toffees after replays showed he had handled the ball.
That didn't deter the home side, however, as they responded with a stunning goal from Dewsbury-Hall, who took down a long ball and manoeuvred between Tino and Thiaw before slotting past Ramsdale.
This time it really was 4-1 and Howe made two changes, seeing Joe Willock and Jacob Ramsey replace Elanga and Barnes heading into the final 20 minutes.
Woltemade then showed more stunning hold up play to hold the ball and release Willock, who burst through the middle and fed Ramsey down the left. A chance to make it five opened up, but a poor touch allowed Pickford to narrow the angle and block his low shot.
Three late changes saw Anthony Gordon, Fabian Schar and Sandro Tonali come on for five minutes of stoppage time, replacing Woltemade, Hall and Bruno; all of whom had been excellent.
And that was that. A huge away win, a superb performance, an Elanga assist, another goal for big Nick, two for Thiaw and real signs of fluency returning to the side now Hall and Tino are back fit, with the former transforming our attacking play and the latter keeping Grealish quiet once again.
Next up, Spurs at home next Tuesday in a big chance to keep on building towards those European spots, which suddenly look in sight again after back-to-back wins.
