Frustrated Bruno Guimaraes gives honest assessment of Newcastle's season
Despite hailing from almost 6000 miles away, Bruno Guimaraes feels the highs and lows at Newcastle United as if he were born on Barrack Road on a match day.
Newcastle's player of the year has completely bought into the Geordie culture and has become a Newcastle United fan as well as the team's captain.
When Newcastle play poorly, the disappointment is written all over his face, and usually comes out in the form of some ill-advised challenges.
Bruno Guimaraes is the exact type of player we need at this club. If we could have a team of Brunos, we'd not have been in this mess this season, that's for sure.
The Brazilian must now get prepared to link up with his country for the World Cup, but before he jets off, he's taken to Instagram to reflect on the season.
Bruno: I'd swap personal achievements for a better league finish
Bruno had a good season in terms of goals scored, but he says he'd trade his personal accolades in for a better finish for the team.
"A very frustrating season, and without a doubt we are all very disappointed. You fans definitely did not deserve this. But football doesn’t always go the way we plan.
"Individually, I managed to have the season with the most goal contributions in my career, and I would trade all of that for a better position in the table.
"Honestly, I just want to thank the fans for everything. Thank you @nufc 3️⃣9️⃣🖤🤍"

Bruno one of few shining lights
Our captain is certainly not one of the players we can point the judgmental finger at this season, ending 2025/26 as our top scorer and top creator in the league.
He was unlucky to pick up that hamstring injury and then the mumps, which kept him out of action at a crucial stage of the season, but he can't exactly be blamed for that.
There are players who we feel shouldn't pull on the shirt again, and we're pretty confident they won't, but as long as Bruno is still here next season, we'll feel like we've got a chance at a better campaign.
He is one of the indispensable. After that display at Fulham, we're not sure how many of those we actually have now.
