Newcastle's top 10 goals of 2024/25 - Watch them all here

A truly unforgettable season was not without its fair share of beautiful goals. From volleys, long range stunners, to 'crosses' and team moves, we saw it all in the 2024/25 season.

In this article, I will identify and list what I believe to be our top 10 goals from a monumental campaign. Feel free to comment below your order or any strikes I may have missed!

10. Sandro Tonali vs Southampton (Premier League)

This one is maybe one that has been pushed to the back of our minds after the pandemonium of the final few months of the season, but it's a lovely goal to watch back. The tenacity from Tonali to win the 50/50 in midfield, to the perfect linkup between Isak and Gordon, finished off expertly by Sandro to close out a simple and effective yet exquisite move.

9. Sandro Tonali vs Brentford (Carabao Cup)

Sandro's first goal back in the black and white stripes, and it's a beauty. The typical deep midfielder goal, running onto a loose cleared ball to strike purely low and hard into the back of the net. It is a goal that suits Tonali well, characterised by great technique, power, and precision. Very deserving to be on this list to say the least.

8. Anthony Gordon vs Aston Villa (Premier League)

A Boxing Day belter. A huge game at the time, one that felt crucial for the Champions League race even though it was relatively early for that talk. Nerves were high, but were quickly settled when Gordon cut onto his favoured right and glided the ball into the far right hand top corner just 81 seconds in, leaving the 'best goalkeeper in the world' stunned.

7. Lewis Miley vs Bromley (FA Cup)

A season of frustration for Miley after a superb breakout year will have been made easier by this world class strike to help save us from FA Cup embarrassment back in January. After going a goal down early on, the young Geordie took matters into his own hands and unleashed a venomous and unstoppable strike from 25 yards out, arrowed straight into the top corner. It is goal you can watch back countless times, and each time it looks more impressive. Hopefully we see plenty more of these in the years to come.

6. Alexander Isak vs Arsenal (Premier League)

What has been often and accurately described as a goal from the past, with Alan Shearer saying it was a "throwback goal", Isak's header at home to Arsenal simply could not be left out of this list. It's vintage winger work from Gordon the right who swings in an inch perfect cross, landing sweetly on the Swede's head to powerfully convert a goal we don't see enough of is today's game.

5. Sandro Tonali vs Man Utd (Premier League)

Sandro's third inclusion in the list, this one the opener in a crucial fixture at home to a team we just love to play at the moment. The goal is made by a ball fizzed into Isak's feet as he adapts to a loose touch, tapping it over the bamboozled defence with ease to set up Tonali who, once again, finishes as if he were a striker. Don't think this one got the credit it deserved at the time, so I'm giving it the flowers it most certainly deserves now.

4. Harvey Barnes vs Wolves (Premier League)

Since Barnes put pen to paper and signed for the club, this goal is exactly what we've been crying out for to see. The circumstances of this being a game we struggled to find our feet in. Just minutes after finding a equaliser through Fabian Schar, Barnes wound up a screamer, finding the top right corner, rippling the net with esteemed elegance. I can remember it watching on repeat for the entire week after the game, wonderful goal.

3. Alexander Isak vs Liverpool (Cup Final)

As we enter the top three, its key to note that ranking these three was tough and you could have them anyway round you wanted in my opinion, but in third I've gone for the goal that sent Wembley into hysteria. Not only is this a goal that we'll see countless times in decades to come because of its significance, but it should also be shown for its quality. Livramento and Barnes linkup superbly, the desire from Murphy to win the ball is immense, followed by the ice cold finish by our Swedish superstar is enough to make anyone cry. The celebration as well, what's not to love?

2. Alexander Isak vs Liverpool (Premier League)

It's only fair that one of the goals nominated for the Premier League Goal of the Season is this highly ranked, especially when its this good. The opponent, the atmosphere, the build up and the execution, its the perfect goal. To amass the power that Isak did with the ball so close to his feet is an under-appreciated feat, leaving Caoimhin Kelleher in goal with absolutely no chance.

1. Dan Burn vs Liverpool (Cup Final)

There was only ever going to be one winner wasn't there? Our first goal at Wembley for 25 years in our first major trophy triumph in 70 years, scored by a local lad who couldn't be a better figurehead for our fanbase made it a heartwarming and hysterical moment.

The cross itself from the man who first believed in our project, Kieran Trippier, was delivered to perfection as time seemed to stand still as Dan Burn rose at the back post to guide the ball into the far corner. It's a snapshot in time that we will all hold close to our hearts for the rest of our lives as everyone remembers exactly where they were and who the hugged as the ball crossed the line. It would've been a footballing injustice to have this anywhere but top spot.
