Chris Sutton drops harsh reality in Newcastle vs West Ham prediction
West Ham come to St James' Park on Sunday for a huge Premier League clash with Newcastle United. Kick-off is at 5:30pm live on Sky Sports.
The Hammers aren't safe from relegation as they and Tottenham Hotspur battle to avoid the drop.
Newcastle fans have made it quite clear which of the two sides they'd prefer to see go down, and as such, many would not begrudge the Hammers a victory on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the BBC's Chris Sutton has little sympathy for West Ham and even feels the disallowed goal that would have snatched a point for them against Arsenal last week was the correct decision. It wasn't.
Get off the fence, Chris!
Even though Sutton claims Newcastle could win this game, that's not the result he's gone for with his prediction.
"I don't feel sorry for West Ham after their defeat by Arsenal last week.
"It was a foul on Gunners goalkeeper David Raya for their goal which was disallowed, and the fact they are in the relegation zone is because of the way they have played all season.
"Now this is an enormous game for the Hammers, and it is an absolutely 'must-win' for them.
"Newcastle were very poor when they lost at London Stadium in November and you wouldn't say they are in much better form at the moment.
"Magpies boss Eddie Howe realises the importance of finishing the season strongly for his own future, and I don't see his side losing this.
"West Ham will be absolutely desperate to get the win, but I am going for a draw and, if anyone does win it, it will be Newcastle.
"Sutton's prediction: 1-1"
Our misery is almost over
We'd probably take the draw in all fairness. It keeps West Ham in the hunt for safety, and it means we don't end our home campaign with a defeat, as fitting as that would probably be.
There is light at the end of the tunnel. This horrendous season is so close to an end. It has been a long time since I've wanted a season to end, but this one can't end soon enough.
In a couple of weeks, we can put this whole campaign behind us, and then it's on to getting excited about players that are never going to come to Newcastle, while we watch them add millions to their valuation at the World Cup.
