Lewis Miley and Tino Livramento injury updates arrive from Eddie Howe
Newcastle United take on Nottingham Forest at The City Ground on Sunday, and Eddie Howe has been speaking to the media ahead of that game.
As usual, first up from the Toon boss is an update on injuries, particularly those of Lewis Miley and Tino Livramento.
Starting with Tino, who picked up an injury in the game against Bournemouth, there was thought to be a chance that the World Cup hopeful would return before the end of the season.
Meanwhile, Lewis Miley fractured his leg in training on Tuesday and was immediately declared out for the season.
Lewis Miley's injury came from nothing
Eddie Howe elaborated on Miley's injury in his press conference, explaining what actually happened, while going on to give an update on Livramento too.
"It was a really innocuous moment in training (for Miley), nobody around him, he slipped and went down. We thought in that moment it was just a twist. He was unable to continue and it was obviously more serious than we originally thought. He faces a few months out and we hope he will be back in and around pre-season. It is a real blow for us and for Lewy.
"It has been a huge frustration for him. He's had some really unfortunate moments. This was a slip and nothing he could have done about it. We tried to not overload him and are aware of his age. Athletically he is outstanding and he is really strong but he is still growing.
"Tino is doing well. He is really improving and running on the grass again. I don't think we will see him again this season. We could maybe push him for the Fulham game but that would feel silly. I think let's him recover and get a good summer behind him."
Could Tino's injury be a blessing in terms of summer transfers?
We have to admit, we're a bit concerned about Lewis Miley if a simple slip can lead to a leg fracture. It's not the first broken bone he's had from nothing. Get on the milk, Miley.
The injury to Tino Livramento may be a blessing in disguise as it could potentially put of those clubs who have been sniffing around. Tino has only been involved in 17 Premier League games this season, which is almost Darren Anderton numbers.
Of course, if he goes to the World Cup with England and performs there, those clubs could come back to try again, although Newcastle have made it clear that any outgoing business, particularly first-team players, they want done early in the window.
