Rafa Benitez ready to seal Premier League return as fourth sacking edges closer - The Telegraph
Former Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez could be on his way back to the Premier League.
As revealed by The Telegraph late last night, the Spaniard is 'ready' to take the Nottingham Forest job should owner Evangelos Marinakis sack Steve Cooper following a 4-0 defeat to Leicester on Monday night.
The result leaves the newly promoted side bottom of the table on four points, with The Mail adding that they have already started the process of identifying candidates to replace Cooper - an ominous sign if true.
Back to The Telegraph's piece, they reveal that Rafa Benitez is waiting in the wings and under serious consideration should a change be made, with the out of work 62-year-old eager to be back in top flight management after he was sacked by Everton back in January.
Should Rafa take over at the City Ground, he'd inherit a newly formed squad in desperate need of direction, with Forest completing an incredible 23 signings over the summer. He'd also be reunited with Lee Charnley, who's been advising Nottingham Forest on off-field matters since August.
One to watch over the coming days and hours, especially if Cooper becomes the fourth casualty of the Premier League season after Scott Parker (Bournemouth), Thomas Tuchel (Chelsea) and Bruno Lage (Wolves).
