As Newcastle prepare or the big kick-off on the pitch this Sunday, it's clear that things are starting to move in an upwards trajectory off the pitch.

Just yesterday, a major club announcement confirmed the £190m purchase of Woolsington Hall; a 260-acre site that will play host to Newcastle United's brand new, state-of-the-art training facility, ready for 2029/30.

Today, there is more good news to share on Friday morning, as Newcastle reveal their brand new training kit sponsor on a multi-year agreement.

Toon announce SumUp deal

Newcastle United have announced a multi-year deal with SumUp; the leading fintech company who arrive as the club's official training kit sponsor.

As revealed by The Athletic, the deal is thought to be worth £15m, with the initial three-year deal worth £5m-per-season.

SumUp will now feature across the men's, women's and academy training kits, with this multi-year partnership following a lucrative £60m deal with KNOX Hydrate.

Discussing the deal, SumUp's Chief Commercial Officer and UK CEO, Luke Griffith's said:

"When the opportunity to partner with Newcastle United arose, it felt like a natural fit. Football brings people together and is woven into the everyday lives of fans, families and communities - something we understand at SumUp.

"Every day, we work with businesses of all sizes, helping them run and grow, while also giving people a simple, smarter way to manage and spend their money.

"This partnership gives us a strong platform to bring our merchant and local communities closer to the club, while creating new opportunities for businesses and fans across the region. As Newcastle United's Official Training KitPartner and Presenting Partner of the Newcastle United Business Club, we look forward to bringing these communities together."

Another major sponsorship deal is set to be announced in due course, with a brand new naming rights holder set to arrive at the STACK.

SumUp the "perfect partner"

Speaking about the deal in more depth the club's Chief Revenue Officer, Dave O'Connor, has described SumUp as the "perfect partner" for Newcastle United.

In quotes shared on the club's official website, O'Connor said:

"SumUp is the perfect partner for Newcastle United; an innovative, ambitious, global business with a genuine commitment to supporting local businesses who serve our fans and community everyday.

"We're excited to kick the partnership off and bring SumUp, its team and its local merchant community closer to the club and our supporters.

"This partnership is a reflection of our commercial ambition: working with innovative global businesses that fully understand the unique role Newcastle United plays in the life of our city and its community."

Great to see the club building momentum off the field and growing our commercial revenues, as David Hopkinson promised upon his arrival as CEO.
