Newcastle's average weekly wage goes public - 10 key findings from 2022/23 accounts

Newcastle United have released results for the 2022/23 financial year. As ever with club finances, there's a lot to take in, so we've picked out 10 key takeaways from the published accounts.
Here's some of the key findings - including confirmation that our average weekly wage is now £94,600 - but keep in mind that the latest accounts do NOT include Champions League prize money, the lucrative Sela sponsorship deal or forthcoming deal with Adidas; our new kit supplier for the 2024/25 season onwards:
- Revenue up to £250m; almost a 40% increase (for the second year running)
- Revenue a £70m increase on last year (does not include Champions League prize money)
- Amortisation on players has gone up to £89m (increase of £38m on last year)
- £73.4m loss for the 2022/23 financial year
- Wages up 10% to £187m
- Average weekly wage now £94,600

- Squad cost up 33% to £472m
