Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi in talks with West Ham - Report

Former Newcastle United co-owner Amanda Staveley is looking for a route back into football ownership.

Ever since Amanda Staveley and her husband, Mehrdad Ghodoussi, were kicked out of the club they fought so hard to buy, there have been plenty of rumours that they were looking to get back into the sport.

There have been several links to Tottenham Hotspur that never panned out, while recently it was reported that Staveley was putting together another consortium with a £1bn war chest to buy a club.

It is now being reported that Staveley and PCP Capital Partners are looking to invest in West Ham United.

Amanda Staveley eyeing West Ham

A report from The Mail has confirmed that Amanda Staveley is eyeing West Ham following their relegation, and the resignation of David Sullivan after allegations about his personal life surfaced.

Craig Hope reveals that exploratory talks have taken place between Staveley and Ghodoussi's PCP investment firm, with the couple exploring their options at several clubs.

Staveley recently told Spear's Magazine that they are looking to take a struggling brand and rebuild it, making West Ham a very possible option.

"I think both my husband and I were attracted to building a business where we can take a brand that isn’t doing so well, a club that isn’t performing well, get it on the right road, and bring that forward.

"There are very few clubs (where that can) work. If you want to tick every box, there’s actually very few clubs that allow that."

We do miss Mandy and Mehrdad

While Staveley doesn't mention West Ham by name there, they do fit that description nicely.

A prominent West Ham fan account reached out to Newcastle fans on X recently asking if they should be concerned or excited about the potential of being taken over by Staveley. Newcastle fans in the replies were overwhelmingly positive, although a couple did warn about the overspending that led to our PSR troubles.

We still wish there was a way she and Mehrdad could return to Newcastle. Maybe with fewer responsibilities when it comes to transfers, though. We miss the connection fans had when they were around.
