Eddie Howe reveals Yasir Al-Rumayyan's message to the players on Saturday
Newcastle United beat Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday, putting an end to a dire streak of consecutive defeats.
The timing was perfect for Eddie Howe's men as the club chairman, Yasir Al-Rumayyan, was in the stands watching on alongside David Hopkinson and Jamie Reuben.
Yasir Al-Rumayyan was in town after having met with the club's board this week to discuss the past, present and future of Newcastle United.
There has been little to come out publicly from those meetings other than Eddie Howe insisting it was all positive and exciting things are coming down the line.
The players were told of the PIF's plans
Indeed, journalist Jordan Cronin posted quotes from Eddie Howe on X on Saturday evening, revealing what the chairman said to the players in the dressing room at full-time.
"He spoke with the players after the game and spoke really well about his plans for the future and how committed he and everyone are to the football club and long-term growth.
"Exciting times ahead, so it was great to see. They (PIF) have been very supportive, and it was great to see everyone together and United in the dressing room."
Hopefully, we won't have to wait too long to find out what these exciting times are.
Will we get a stadium update?
There had been plenty of speculation before the meetings that the PIF would be pushed for a decision on the future of St James' Park, as well as the £200 million training ground investment.
We're sure that those things were discussed, but whether we find out what was said, only time will tell.
The stadium decision has been dragging on longer than the end of The Lord Of The Rings, so surely we're approaching a conclusion now.
