No rush for injured Newcastle star - Jason Tindall provides fitness update
After the defeat against Aston Villa, it wouldn’t be any surprise for Jason Tindall, or any Premier League manager for that fact, to consider drastic measures to get a club back on track.
But one fresh report is hinting that Tindall and the club are in no way considering rushing back a sorely-missed injured star.
The player is particular is understood to be making excellent progress in terms of his recovery, but it’s a welcome sight to see we’ve learned from previous injuries not to bring a player back at the first available opportunity.
Tindall’s verdict on Lewis Hall
According to The Chronicle, we currently have no plans to bring Lewis Hall back to the first team before pre-season despite some promising signs of recovery from injury.
Lee Ryder writes that Hall “may be held back from making an unexpected return before the end of the season.”
And this despite the boyhood Newcastle fan showing a keen willingness to return as soon as he can.
In response to questions about Hall’s recovery, Tindall revealed: “He's doing great. I don't think we will see him play again this season if we are being honest.”
“When you look at Lewis' journey when he arrived at the football club he had to be patient. There was a lot of frustration during that time.”
Hall last played at the end of February in a 2-0 loss away to Liverpool, but the squad thankfully has been boosted by the excellent form of Tino Livramento deputising in Hall’s place.
The right call on Hall?
Even though you have to admire Hall’s dedication and drive to return, rushing him back from surgery so soon into his career could be catastrophic down the line.
We’ve already learned a hard lesson with Sven Botman in regards to playing a young defender too soon, and Hall is thankfully covered by a plethora of players who can also play at LB.
In an ideal world, the start of the next Premier League season should be the first time we see Hall play in the black and white aside some brief cameos during the pre-season.
