Lewis Hall in 8-player battle for Young Player of the Season award
As poor as Newcastle United have been in the Premier League this season overall, there have been a couple of individuals who have managed to shine.
Bruno Guimaraes and Lewis Hall both made it into the EA Sports Team of the Season despite playing in a struggling Newcastle side, and both had their fair share of injuries to contend with.
At times, some of our players have looked fantastic. Tino Livramento started the season very strongly before fading towards the end; the same could be said for Nick Woltemade, too.
Harvey Barnes has had moments of absolute brilliance, and in the Champions League, we've still got to give credit to Anthony Gordon.
Vote for Lewis Hall
Lewis Hall isn't just content with a spot in the Team of the Season, however, as the England full-back has been shortlisted for the Young Player of the Season award too. (Vote now!)
Hall has been tremendous for Newcastle this season. A constant thorn in the opposition's side, particularly on the counter-attack. The defensive side of his game still needs work, but he's young and will develop that as time goes on.
Eddie Howe was informed of Hall's nomination during Friday morning's press conference and he believes he's a worthy candidate.
"I think he has had a really good season. He had a really, really good middle part of the season where he was very consistent, played regularly, looked physically really good and put in some eye-catching displays. I think he would be a worthy winner."
Lewis Hall is our Player of the Season
Obviously, there's some strong competition for the award with Manchester City's Rayan Cherki and Nico O'Reilly both nominated. The latter is also seen as competition for the left-back spot for England's World Cup team. Bournemouth's Alex Scott is another good shout for the award, too.
West Ham's Matheus Fernandes, Brentford's Michael Kayode. Kobbie Mainoo of Manchester United and Bournemouth's Junior Kroupi round off the nominations.
All bias aside, we think Hall would do well to see off the competition from the Man City boys, but he's still going to get our vote anyway because we are biased and we don't care.
Hall has been our Newcastle United player of the season pick for a while now, and despite a small drop in form of late, he still gets our vote for that, so of course, he gets our vote for this one too.
